BRTA - Improving Bedford Connectivity

The British Regional Transport Association (BRTA) is campaigning for improved public transport connectivity across Bedford and the surrounding area, with the aim of supporting economic growth, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental sustainability.

BRTA’s Priorities Include:

  • East – West Rail – getting the route right

  • New railway stations at Oakley and Sharnbrook

  • A new station serving Kempston Retail Park

  • Bedford – Bletchley railway upgrades

  • Rail access for the proposed Universal Theme Park

  • Bedford – Northampton Thameslink services

  • Improved local bus services

BRTA is a national, independently run transport advocacy organisation and is proudly neurodivergent-led. It works with communities and volunteers to campaign for better rail and bus services across Britain.
